If you find yourself wandering the streets of Sarikei, a charming town nestled in Sarawak, Malaysia, make sure to stop by the renowned Wen Wen Cafe. This delightful cafe, located at 68, Jalan Repok, offers an authentic experience that embodies the essence of traditional Malaysian dining.
Wen Wen Cafe captures the heart of local food culture with its wide array of choices. Customers rave about their famous chicken rice, often hailed as the best in town. Picture succulent chicken paired with a selection of sides, including curry sauce, braised eggs, and braised chicken legs, all at affordable prices. It's a dish that not only satisfies the palate but also feels like a comfortable embrace of home-cooked goodness.
The cafe's reputation extends beyond chicken rice. Frequent diners recommend the Kampua noodles and Sarawak laksa, dishes that capture the nostalgic essence of an old-school kopitiam. Patrons describe the Kampua as a flavor-packed delight that vanishes almost instantly once it hits the table. Similarly, the laksa boasts a delightful spice profile that warms the soul.
Wen Wen Cafe is not just a food stop; it’s a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. It's a true kopitiam experience, where Malay and Chinese flavors intertwine, serving everything from mee mamak to delicious chicken and duck rice. The community vibe adds to the charm, inviting conversations and laughter over shared meals.
When you visit, be sure to arrive early to snag some of the popular dishes, as the Cha Siew is known to sell out quickly. The big, hearty portions ensure you leave satisfied, while the juicy meat brings a delight that keeps patrons coming back for more. If you're looking for an unforgettable brunch or lunch experience, Wen Wen Cafe is where you should be. When in Sarikei, eating at Wen Wen Cafe is not just recommended; it’s a culinary rite of passage.

Best chicken rice in town I've tried so far. Lot of extra side dish to choose. Curry sauce, braised egg and braised chicken leg to name a few. A must try if visiting Sarikei

It's an old school kopitiam with old school type of street food. The Kampua, Pien Nik and sarawak laksa is highly recommended. Even though I've tried d many kopitiam in skei this one is the best. Sorry no pienik photos cause it was gone in an instant once it reached our table.

Typical kopitiam in the town of Sarikei, a mixture of Malay to Chinese stalls available in the kopitiam. From mee mamak to kampua noodle, laksa , even chicken rice stall available. The highlight will be the chicken rice that is loved by the locals. Affordable price with wide selection of meat. Be sure to reach early as the Cha Siew will be the fastest to get sold out. Curry chicken rice available as well. Great location in the center of the town. Portion served is relatively big and juicy meat. One of the best place recommended for your brunch or lunch.
